Amethyst

Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz stone found in Siberia, Sri Lanka, Brazil and the far East. The name comes from the ancient Greek words a – “not”, methyo- “intoxicate”, as they believed that the stone protected the wearer from intoxication, or simply from negative behavior.
