Chrysoprase

The Stone of Divine Wholeness

Chrysoprase is a gemstone variety of chalcedony. What sets this stone apart is that, under normal magnification, the crystals are so fine that they cannot be seen as distinct particles. It is found mostly in Western Australia, Tanzania, Germany, Poland Russia, Arizona, California, and Brazil. The name of this stone comes from the Greek chrys, meaning gold/yellow and prase meaning “green”. Chrysoprase was often used by the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians to make seals, signets, jewelry and other extraneous objects because of its vivid greenish color. It was also to be referred to as “the stone of Venus,” and It is said to have been the favorite gemstone of Alexander the Great. This stone is believed to open and activate the Heart Chakra. Chrysoprase is a stone of divine wholeness, encouraging fidelity in business and personal relationships and heals codependency.
