African Opal Jasper is considered to be a bit of a mystery in the gemological world. African Opal Jasper has a jelly like luster similar to Turquoise and is found in Africa. However, there is little agreement about what it should be called. In ancient times, Jasper was adored and referenced by Hebrew, Assyrian, and Latin Literature.
