New Horizons Necklace

The New Horizons Necklace is inspired by my love for sunrises and sunsets. Growing up on the east coast, I would love getting up early to surf or watch the sunrise as the sun rose out of the water. I always love that moment when you see half the sun on the horizon and half reflecting on the water. Moving to the west coast, I found a new appreciation for the same phenomenon, yet at sunset when the wind dies down, the waves glass over, and that anticipation arises as you watch the last of the suns golden glow sink beneath the horizon. I always found it interesting how this same phenomenon on either coast would elicit different feelings. The sunrise would create an excitement for the beginning of a new day, while the sun setting into the horizon would bring about a calming sense of peace and gratitude. Why gold filled?

Despite its name, gold filled jewelry refers to a process in which a layer of karat gold is heat- and pressure- bonded to a layer of base metal. You can do this using a soft jewelry brush and a solution of water and unscented dish soap. Gently clean your jewelry, rinse well, pat dry, and let it air dry. Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before putting it away.
