C A L Y P S O

CALYPSO was inspired by the movement and energy of the ocean. Designed in white gold with a flowing bypass silhouette, the setting curves organically around the center round diamond, creating a sense of motion similar to waves wrapping around light. I wanted the design to feel fluid and effortless, balancing softness and movement with a more sculptural, modern shape.

I named the ring CALYPSO after Calypso, a figure associated with the sea, beauty, mystery, and enchantment. Her name is often interpreted as “she who envelops,” which felt especially fitting for a design where the metal appears to wrap protectively and naturally around the center stone.

To me, the ring is a reflection of the feeling of being completely captivated by the person you love — deeply drawn to them, consumed by their energy, and enveloped in their love in a way that feels effortless and all-encompassing. The round diamond becomes the center point within the movement of the ring, while the flowing bypass design symbolizes the pull, connection, and emotion that continuously draws two people back toward one another.

I wanted the overall piece to feel luminous, feminine, and full of movement — like light reflecting across water.
