The POMPADOUR ring was inspired by the romantic history behind the marquise diamond, which is said to have been commissioned by King Louis XV and inspired by the lips of Madame de Pompadour. I loved the idea of designing around a diamond shape with such a feminine and romantic story behind it, while giving it a more modern and elevated feel. The setting itself was designed to complement the glamour and elegance associated with the time of King Louis XV — refined, luminous, and full of detail, while still feeling timeless enough to wear today.
The ring features a marquise diamond set in a refined 6-prong setting with a larger diamond band and a hidden halo tucked beneath the center stone. I wanted the design to feel balanced between softness and strength — pairing the elongated, fluid shape of the marquise diamond with the stronger presence and brilliance of the band.
The overall design was created to feel romantic, luxurious, and special.
